Heirloom is an online file management system for enjoying your memories. Upon Sign In, you arrive at your Home page of files and folders. You can toggle between a Grid (default) or List view of your photos, videos, and other cherished memories. Use the Search bar to find specific memories by Name, Type, and Description. Use the List view to sort your memories by Name, Type, Date Modified, or Description simply by clicking on the header. Folders can contain a hierarchy of subfolders. Click on “Home” or a highlighted subfolder to return there. Click on your Name in the upper right hand corner to manage details of your Account, or to Sign Out.
You can share memories with an unlimited number of friends and family. Simply check one or more files and folders, then press Share. This will open a “Share with people” box, showing a list of any users who currently have access, or a blank box to “Add another user.” Clicking in the box requires you to type a new user's Email, First Name, and Last Name. Then click “Add User”. Next, you’ll be required to assign the level of access (Editor, Contributor, or Viewer) to the files you selected. The default is Viewer. Once selected, press “Save Changes.” This new user will receive an email from Heirloom inviting them to Sign In with their own account and enjoy the files you shared with them.
Viewer is the most restrictive level of access to your memories. It allows a user to search, sort, open, and download the files and folders that you’ve shared with them. Viewers can also externally post single images to social media.
Contributors can do the same things as a Viewer, but also allows the user to Upload Files and create a New Folder. Additionally, Contributors can add/edit a Description to the files and folders you’ve shared with them.
Editor is the highest level of access to your memories. An Editor can do the same things as a Contributor, but also allows the user to rename, move, copy, and delete the files and folders you shared with them. Additionally, Editors can create new users for these files and folders. Only the Owners and Editors can create new users.
A user with the proper access can download one or more files or folders. Simply select files or folders by checking, then press “Download”. These files will appear in a zip folder on your computer’s default Download folder.
A user with the proper access can rename a file or folder, one at a time. Simply select the one object, then press “Rename”. A “Rename File/Folder” box will appear and allow you to edit the name.
Users with the proper access can move and copy one or more files and folders. Simply select files or folders by checking, then press “Move” or “Copy”. The appropriate box will appear and allow you to select the destination folder.
Users with the proper access can delete one or more files and folders. Simply select files or folders by checking, then press “Delete”. This action will move these items to your Trash. Click on the Trash can icon to see a list of these items. Items in the trash can be returned to your library by selecting and pressing “Restore.” Items in the Trash can be fully deleted by selecting and pressing the red “Delete Permanently” box. Pressing “Exit Trash” will return you Home.
